The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has released a new safety manual aimed at helping compact excavator operators and mechanics recognize and deal with some of the hazards they may encounter while working with the machines.
AEM said the key objective of the 40-page booklet is to assist users in developing good safety habits, promote awareness of potential dangers and produce better operators. Some topics covered in the manual include safely starting, parking, loading and unloading the machine.
Information in the manual was developed through a combined effort of compact excavator manufacturers. It is meant to augment specific safety guidelines equipment makers provide with their products.
