Nissan rolled out a concept Frontier pickup this week at the SEMA Show as the company’s “vision for a high-performance, unstoppable off-road truck.”
The concept model gets the name “Ronin,” which is Japanese for "masterless warrior." The company says this represents the loaded truck's intended use and its “fearless personality.”

- Twin-turbocharged version of Frontier's 3.8-liter V6 engine for more horsepower.
- Suspension components from the full-size Titan pickup, which ended U.S. production in 2024, for 1 foot of extra width and 4-inch lift.
- 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires on prototype 17-inch NISMO Ascend beadlock wheels.
- NISMO Off Road accessory parts — rock sliders, driving lights, spare-tire carrier, custom big-brake kit.
- Sport bucket seats, additional gauges for the twin-turbo engine and custom seat belts with topographic map-inspired details.
Nissan says the concept Ronin is not for sale, but it could help influence and deliver feedback for future Nissan trucks.
