Volvo Trucks North America announced the winners of the “Volvo Trucks Great Minds” scholarships. The three scholarships are for $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 and are given to college students whose parent or guardian owns a Volvo truck.
Each student was evaluated on academics, extra-curricular activities, work experience and an essay on the affect that trucking has had on their family. Winners of the scholarships are:
- $20,000 scholarship: Nathan Wittman of Columbus City, Iowa, attending the University of Iowa
- $10,000 scholarship: Jennifer Kaiser of Milford, Iowa, to attend Drake University
- $5,000 scholarship: Gregory Herbert of Villa Park, Illinois, attending the Illinois Institute of Technology
