AGC announces 2009 National Student Championship

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) announced details on the 2009 AGC National Student Championship, a student competition for future construction industry professionals. The National Championship, which replaces the ASC-AGC National Student Competition, will take place at the AGC 90th Annual Convention in San Diego, March 4-7, 2009.

Teams from regionally-qualifying undergraduate student competitions will be eligible to compete in the contest. The two-day simulated construction project will allow teams to showcase their abilities and be evaluated on the following criteria: estimating, bidding, planning and scheduling; understanding of sound construction techniques; thoughtful methodology; presentation skills; and creativity.

First, second and third place awards will be given in the divisions of Commercial Building, Design-Build and Heavy-Civil. Winning student teams will be recognized at the AGC National Student Championship Awards Dinner in San Diego during Convention.
