Artics’ driveline eliminates a driveshaft, increases front traction

With the introduction of two new models, the 335 and 340, Case has expanded its lineup of articulated dump trucks for more horsepower, increased payload capacity and easier service. The 335 model features a 380-horsepower engine and a 35-ton capacity. The 340 sports a 426-horsepower engine and carries up to 40 tons. Both have a variable geometry turbocharger that delivers rapid response and high torque rise to keep the truck moving at a brisk, productive pace even when steep inclines or soft soils might bog it down. The trucks’ new front driveline uses an integrated transmission-mounted differential that transfers power directly from the transmission to the front wheels. A tilt-up cab along with the flip-forward hood and swing-out fenders give technicians easy access to the drivelines, transmission and hydraulic system.
