United Rentals has opened a national accounts customer service center in Shelton, Conn., to provide the company’s largest accounts with a single point of contact for equipment rentals and sales and contractor supplies. The facility is staffed by seven customer service professionals who share information technology with 730 United Rentals branches in the United States and Canada. The national accounts center allows the company to be more responsive to customer requests, said Ernie Delle Donne, vice president – national accounts and government sales. “It’s not unusual for one of our national accounts to be based in the Northeast, for example, and need equipment delivered immediately to jobsites in Miami, Kansas City or Vancouver,” Donne says.
