UCT to develop HDD, pipebursting and damage prevention sessions for ICUEE

If you’ve ever wanted to improve your skill and knowledge of horizontal directional drilling and pipebursting, this year’s International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition will offer new in-depth sessions to do just that.

The Underground Construction Technology staff is organizing the educational sessions in conjunction with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which produces the ICUEE show.

The sessions will be held in advance of the Sept. 27 start date of the ICUEE show, allowing attendees time to participate in both. “Horizontal Directional Drilling School” is a two-and-half-day program that will begin at noon on Sunday, Sept. 25, and end on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The “Pipebursting Workshop” is a one-day session to be held Monday, Sept. 26. The HDD School is targeted at both the experienced driller wanting a refresher course and novices seeking to improve their knowledge and capabilities. The “Pipebursting Workshop” will give contractors an overview of this rapidly changing technology and explore the options available.

In addition to the pre-show sessions, UCT will conduct up to 18 seminar sessions grouped into three tracks and spread over all three days of the show. Sessions will cover topics ranging from trenchless innovations to maximizing uses for compact equipment to damage prevention and OSHA issues.

With the addition of the UCT-led sessions, this year’s ICUEE will offer more than three times the educational content as was available at the last show.

The ICUEE/UCT educational program will also allow industry professionals to earn continuing education units or professional development hours. Certificates of completion will also be awarded to those attending the pre-ICUEE sessions on HDD and pipebursting.
