Caterpillar University, the internal organization responsible for developing common, global enterprise learning initiatives at the company, won two best in class awards during a national conference of corporate learning held in November. Cat U won first place in the areas of best evaluation technique and best overall corporate university. David Vance, president of Caterpillar University, earned the corporate university Leader of the Year Award. More than 50 organizations from around the world submitted entries for consideration in the third annual Corporate University Best in Class Awards, which were established to honor, recognize and promote corporate universities that use best practices.
