Navistar, German truck and engine maker sign pact

Navistar International and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG of Munich, Germany, have agreed to collaborate on design, development, sourcing and manufacturing of components and systems for commercial trucks, including a range of diesel engines. Daniel Ustian, Navistar chairman, president and chief executive, said the two companies will benefit from each other’s technologies and combined volumes for economies of scale. Both companies have agreed not to comment on any specific components or applications for competitive reasons, said Jack Allen, president of International’s engine group.
