Cummins announced Dec. 3 it has signed a joint venture contract with Dongfeng Cummins Engine to establish a technical center in China that will open in the first quarter of 2006. The Cummins East Asia Tech Center, to be located in Wuhan, will provide engineering and technical services for the full range of Cummins products built in China. The center will be a 55-45 joint venture between Cummins and Dongfeng, respectively. Dongfeng Cummins Engine is a 50-50 joint venture between Cummins and Dongfeng Automobile.
