Robin introduces line of overhead cam engines

Robin Subaru introduced at World of Concrete a line of four engines with chain-driven, overhead cam technology. The EX Series engines have power ranges from 4.5 to 9 horsepower and are designed for all-day use.

The engines are suited for use in general construction equipment, compaction equipment, portable generators, pumps, compressors and other industrial engine applications.

The chain-driven, overhead cam technology, similar to that of high-performance automotive engines, offers lower resistance for the air/fuel mixture flow. The engines also have a pent-roof combustion chamber, which creates a high compression ratio.

An automatic decompression system reduces the required recoil pulling force when starting the engines by 30 to 40 percent when compared with overhead valve designs, according to the manufacturer.

The EX Series is comprised of the EX13, EX17, EX21 and EX27 engines, which produce 4.5, 6, 7 and 9 horsepower, respectively.
