Roadtec’s Shuttle Buggy MTV SB-2500eAt its World of Asphalt booth here in Baltimore, Roadtec is showing attendees three new machines, all of which have been updated with Tier 4 Final engines.
First up is the company’s largest Shuttle Buggy Material Transfer Vehicle (MTV), the SB-2500e. It’s powered by a 300-horsepower Cummins QSL 9. Roadtec says the SB-2500e will remain available in a Tier 3 model for certain international markets.
Other improvements to the machine include upgraded wear components such as tougher floor liners and chains as well as sprockets with 38 percent more wear surface.
RX-600ex cold planerNext is the RX-600e cold planer, now powered by a 675-horsepower Cummins QSX 15. Along with the Tier 4 Final engine, several components on the RX-600e have been upgraded including backlit ground controls and a now-standard dust extraction system.
The RX-600e is available in three-track and four-track models with maximum working speeds up to 127 feet per minute and 163 fpm, respectively.
RP-195e paverFinally, Roadtec’s RP-195e paver is now powered by a 230-hp Cummins QSB 6.7. The paver features Roadtec’s anti-segregation design and hydraulic swing-out operator stations giving a side view of the machine.
Each of the machines feature Roadtec’s Guardian telematics system which allows contractors and fleet managers to remotely monitor equipment diagnostics in real time by logging into the system’s website. Guardian updates owners on each machine’s electrical and hydraulic systems as well as the engine, pressure transducers, grade/slope control and fuel consumption. The system also sends email alerts on fault codes and reminders for maintenance.
