The first Yanmar compact track loaders with ASV Posi-Track undercarriages are now available in North America, the beginning of a phase-out of ASV-branded CTLs under a “One Yanmar” strategy.
The new strategy to an all-Yanmar product lineup comes seven years after Yanmar acquired ASV, a Minnesota-based company credited with launching the first commercial compact track loader.
The new loaders — the TL25RP, TL40RP and TL50RP — range from 3,870 to 5,205 pounds and 23 to 54 horsepower.
The “P” in the model names represents “Posi-Track,” which is a fully suspended torsion-axle undercarriage ASV patented and offered on its CTLs throughout its history. The “R” stands for radial lift.
Yanmar plans to continue to offer CTLs with its own steel-embedded track undercarriage. The steel-embedded CTLs are larger, vertical-lift models, starting with the TL65VS at 8,575 pounds and 67 horsepower, which Yanmar released in 2024.
The Posi-Track system is engineered to improve stability, digging performance and material retention when operating on soft, wet, slippery, rough or hilly terrain.
The rubber tracks deliver “exceptional flotation, low ground pressure and dependable traction,” according to Yanmar. The steel-embedded track system is for those planning to operate mostly on hard surfaces or need additional durability.
Powered byThe new small-frame CTLs are designed for construction, landscaping and land management, as well as for the rental market. Along with low ground pressure, they are light and provide “outstanding ride quality” yet maintain productivity, the company says.
TL25RP
It features a 23.2-horsepower turbocharged Yanmar diesel engine that produces 63.2 foot-pounds of peak torque. The CTL boasts an 800-pound rated operating capacity and 2,250 pounds of breakout force.
Other features include:
- Standard open ROPS cab and available cold-weather cab.
- Separate right- and left-hand pilot hydraulic joysticks to manage loader and drive functions independently.
- Optional auxiliary flow joystick buttons or continuous console switch.
- Hand-operated rotary throttle for precise engine speed management.
- 3.5-inch color display monitors rpm, temperature, fuel level, battery voltage and diagnostics.
TL40RP
It features a 38.2-horsepower turbocharged Yanmar diesel engine that produces 93.6 foot-pounds of peak torque. It boasts a 930-pound rated operating capacity and 2,480 pounds of breakout force.
Its controls are like the TL25RP, but it gets a larger color display, at 4.3 inches.
TL50RP
It features a 53.8-horsepower turbocharged Yanmar diesel engine that produces 103 foot-pounds of peak torque. It boasts a 1,400-pound rated operating capacity and 2,920 pounds of breakout force.
Its controls are like the TL25RP and TL40RP, and it gets the same color display, at 4.3 inches, as the TL40RP.
The TL50RP is a heftier CTL, including the ability to remove snow, with 13.3 gallons per minute of auxiliary hydraulic flow.
Expect more Yanmar ASV Posi-Track CTLs to be released in the U.S., as ASV’s lineup consists of 11 models.
Compact track loaders are the most popular construction equipment category by new financed sales in the U.S. More than 56,000 units were sold from May 2025 to April 2026, according to Fusable’s EDA equipment finance data.
