Crews are making quick work of replacing Kingsland bridge, which washed away in a flood in November 2018, with a projected completion date in April 2019, Fox 7 reports. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) deems the bridge project a priority, which means crews receive financial incentives to work around the clock.

TxDOT reopened a low-water crossing a couple miles north of the bridge, but it still takes a while for people to get from one side to the other.

TxDOT reports that one of the problems they are encountering is pieces of the old bridge that are still underwater and in the way. A spokesperson for TxDOT told the news agency that they were worried it might cause a delay, but they are drilling through the debris.

The YouTube video below was taken in December 2018, approximately six weeks after the bridge washed out, and work was already well underway.
