Granite announced that the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has awarded the company a $22 million contract for a Highway 1 project from North Aptos Underpass to Junction Route 9 in Santa Cruz, Calif.
The work will include replacing the old metal beam guard railing with new concrete barriers, installing new overhead sign structures, repairing the overcrossing deck surfaces, and repaving the highway with rubberized asphalt.
Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2019 and be complete in December 2019.
