The Mississippi Department of Transportation has won a national public relations award for its efforts to inform residents on transportation issues.
The MDOT’s Public Affairs team and staff members from other departments earned first place in interactive presentation for its series of six videos featuring key transportation issues facing Mississippians. The award is one of the highest presented by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials’ Committee on Transportation Communication.
“It’s an honor for Mississippi to be recognized by its peers in communication and transportation on a national platform,” said Jarrod Ravencraft, MDOT public affairs director. “This video series tells MDOT’s story and educates the entire state on important issues affecting its citizens.”
MDOT Public Affairs staff members also won awards in the committee’s annual Skills Contest. The awards recognize outstanding work of public relations practitioners.
