Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board awards $194 million in transportation project contracts

Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) has awarded seven road and bridge project contracts valued at $194 million in the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Hampton Roads, Richmond and Staunton districts.

Projects include:

• Widening and reconstruction of seven miles of I-64 in Newport News and York and James City counties. Contractor: Allan Myers VA, Glen Allen, Virginia. Project value: $139 million. Completion date: July 2019. More information is available here.
• Replacing U.S. 340 (Main Street) bridge over the South River in Waynesboro. Contractor: Fairfield-Echols, Fishersville, Virginia. Project value: $7 million. Completion date: December 2018. More information is available here.
• Reconstruction of the U.S. 58 interchange at Route 742 in Southampton County. Contractor: Curtis Contracting, West Point, Virginia. Project value: $15 million. Completion date: December 2018. More information is available here.
• Replacement of the U.S. 58 bridge over Route 632 in Isle of Wight County. Contractor: Bryant Construction, Toano, Virginia. Project value: $6.7 million Completion date: October 2017. More information is available here.
• Pavement restoration on Route 288 in Chesterfield County. Contractor: Curtis Contracting. Project value: $11.3 million. Completion date: September 2017
• Pavement maintenance in Mecklenburg County. Contractor: Slurry Pavers, Richmond, Virginia. Project value: $9.3 million. Completion date: TBD
• Pavement maintenance in Chesterfield County. Contractor: Slurry Pavers. Project value: $5.9 million. Completion date: TBD
