ARGO has launched six new vehicles options as part of its extreme terrain vehicle line, including options for recreational, commercial and first responder applications.
“When we started this ambitious project to deliver industry specific models, the first thing we did was ask hundreds of end users, industry professionals and dealers what they wanted from an extreme terrain machine,” says Bernhard Wagenknecht, ARGO vice president of sales and marketing. “The feedback was unanimous: they told us they wanted vehicles with more comfort, versatility, go-anywhere capabilities, power and the critical component—features that allowed them to do their jobs more effectively.”

Commander LF – 8×8 XTI
In water:
The ARGO Commander LF’s amphibious capability allows personnel to cross streams, rivers and lakes without preparation.
Through jungles and swamps
- The ARGO Commander LF’s extremely low ground pressure, 8-wheel drive traction and optional tracks increase off-road mobility.
Over snow:
- When equipped with tracks, the ARGO Commander LF can travel over deep snow with ease and matches in-service Bv206 performance.
Over mountains and extreme slopes
- The ARGO Commander LF has the UTV industry’s lowest centre of gravity and highest static stability factor, providing excellent stability on slopes. 8 wheel drive provides unmatched traction. Double layer full underbody protection ensures that the drive train system is protected from damage by boulders, stumps, and other hazards which would immobilize other UTVs.
By air:
- Adaptable to a variety of platforms:
- Sling-loadable by rotary wing such as CH-146 and UH-60 (high/hot conditions)
- Internally transportable by CH-147 and CH-53
- Air droppable by C-130, C-17, and other fixed wing aircraft via palletized parachute load
Commander MD – 8×8 XTI
In water:
- ARGO matches Small Unit Support Vehicle (SUSV) amphibious performance, allowing for immediate deployment of personnel through streams, rivers and lakes carrying payloads up to 454 kg (1,000 lb).
Over tundra:
- ARGO matches SUSV performance over tundra. With minimal ground pressure, 8-wheel drive traction and optional tracks, it provides outstanding off-road mobility.
Over snow:
- When equipped with tracks, the ARGO Commander MD matches in-service Bv206 performance over snow and ice.
In extreme cold:
- The ARGO Commander MD is engineered to operate in temperatures from -40°C to 40°C (-40°F to +104°F) and has proven itself in operations from the Arctic to Antarctica.
By air:
- When the only way in is by air, the ARGO Commander MD is sling-loadable by a CH-146 and UH-60, even in high/hot conditions. It can also be transported internally by a CH-147F. The ARGO Commander MD can be air dropped by either a CC-130 or a CC-17.
