A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation worker was hospitalized Tuesday after a dump truck ran over his legs in a construction zone in Hanover.
The PennDOT employee was in a work zone on State Route 29 at around 2 p.m. when the dump truck ran him over and pinned him to the ground, according to the Wilkes Barre Times-Leader.
The worker was transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries aren’t expected to be life-threatening.
The man stayed pinned under the tow truck until first responders arrived from the nearby police and fire departments. It took employing a crane to actually lift the tow truck off of his legs.
The local authorities didn’t release any more information, but the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating how the accident occurred.
