Re-HEAT Hot-in-Place Recycling: No overlay required

RE-HEATRE-HEAT allows 13 miles to be resurfaced with a budget that only covers 10 miles by using an in-place road surface rehabilitation process that restores cracked, brittle, and irregular, worn asphalt pavement without the need for an overlay, according to the company.

Any roadways that possess a stable and structurally adequate base are appropriate candidates for this process – many proposed projects may be perfectly suitable. However, the depth and nature of the existing materials must be evaluated prior to construction.

According to Re-HEAT, there is about a 30-percent savings versus the conventional mill and overlay resurfacing option. The company is an environmentally friendly process that is 100 percent recycled pavement that produces 62 percent less greenhouse gases than the traditional approach.
