Cummins awarded diesel emissions reduction project

Engine maker Cummins will participate in a public-private partnership to demonstrate advanced diesel engine emissions control systems meeting EPA’s 2010 on-highway regulations.

Cummins technology will be used on the ISL 9-liter engine to verify the emissions reduction capability of a system incorporating both a diesel particulate filter and nitrogen oxides absorber.

The project is focused on demonstrating emissions reductions for waste collection vehicles operating in urban areas.
