The National Asphalt Pavement Association’s upcoming annual Impact Leadership Group Conference, to be held September 17-19 in Atlanta, is focused on the next generation of leaders in the asphalt industry.

NAPA says the conference will help develop leadership and management skills, provide updates on the latest safety concerns, build a national network of industry professionals and enable the exchange of ideas.

A featured event this year is touring Auburn University’s National Center for Asphalt Technology lab and test track. The 1.7-mile oval track has sections sponsored by departments of transportation and industry members for accelerated testing of experimental asphalt pavements. Attendees will also visit NCAT’s Pavement Preservation Project sites, where experimental preservation treatments are subject to real traffic.

The conference includes education sessions for which attendees can earn professional development hours, with one hour of attendance equal to one PDH. Attendees must keep record of their own attendance; NAPA will confirm an attendee’s registration at the request of a licensing or certifying agency. The association recommends attendees first check with their state licensing agency to determine whether it will accept self-reported credits.
