France-based Mecalac—which established a presence in the United States with an initial partnership in Massachusetts in 2016—continues to expand its North American distribution network.

Geographical expansion remains one of the main policy priorities of the Mecalac Group, the company says in press release.

Mecalac launched those sales and marketing efforts in the United States with MCR crawler skid-excavators and AX wheel loaders. Sales extend across the entire product range of the group: track and wheeled excavators, compact wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, site dumpers and compaction rollers.

Now, marketing ranges are being broadened, together with geographic expansion with nine U.S. distributors.

They are:

  • H&V (Texas)
  • Jersey Rents (New Jersey)
  • Jet City Equipment (Washington)
  • LF George, (Wisconsin)
  • Lorusso Heavy Equipment (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Rhode-Island, New Hampshire)
  • Midwest Underground (South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska)
  • Powerco Equipment (New Jersey:
  • Reynolds-Warren Equipment Co. (Georgia)
  • Trenchers Plus, (Minnesota)

In 2016, the Mecalac Group opened its Boston sales subsidiary, Mecalac North America, to provide support to distributors established in the United States, as well as in Canada and South America.

Mecalac has already moved into the Canadian market with three distributors who now handle the promotion, sales and marketing of Mecalac construction machinery.

Provinces covered include:

  • Alberta, by Kaymor Machine & Welding
  • Quebec by Trakto-Bobcat Montreal
  • and the provinces on the eastern seaboard of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador by Saunders Equipment.

The compact dimensions and multi-functional capabilities of Mecalac equipment have proven very attractive in a context where construction sites in urban environments are evolving constantly, the company says “Mecalac is delivering a truly effective solution for this, based on a single construction machine instead of using two or three onsite,” which reduces risk of collisions, pollution and distractions for the on-site personnel and local residents, Mecalac says.

“Enthusiasm for Mecalac machinery is rising fast,” the company says in a press release. “Their concept and their performance levels are also delivering a genuine solution across the Atlantic, one that is in step with the way urban American building sites are evolving.”

For more than four decades, through its five factories, its seven commercial subsidiaries and a global network of more than 250 dealerships, the Mecalac group has been designing, manufacturing and selling construction machines specifically intended for civil and underground engineering in urban environments, the company says.
