Cat launches B series telehandlers

Increased capacities and a host of enhancements distinguish three new telehandlers from Caterpillar. The TH350B, TH360B and TH460B offer maximum lift heights from 36 feet to 44.3 feet, forward reaches from 24 feet to 30 feet and load capacities from 6,600 pounds to 9,000 pounds. All three machines are driven by Cat 3054T diesel engines, rated at 99 horsepower. Driven directly from the engine through the transmission, the cooling fan does not need additional hydraulics. The powersyncro transmission tops out at 20 mph and reaches across the machine, eliminating the need for a separate transfer box. To simplify maintenance, the transmission shares hydraulic oil with the attachment hydraulics. The four-wheel, oil-immersed disc brakes offer 25 percent more surface area than the B-series’ predecessors. New stabilizers offer plus/minus five degrees of leveling and an optional frame-leveling system renders plus/minus 10 degrees of leveling. Other options include a differential lock, self-aligning steering and a choice of manual or hydraulic quick coupler.
