Okada America, Inc., shipped two containers of various hydraulic recycling and re-handling attachments to aid in the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts that devastated areas of Northern Japan.
“We are sending anything that can cut steel and aluminum, crush concrete or separate various materials,” said Tony Neikirk, vice president of sales for Okada America. “It puts a crimp on our available U.S. inventory, but the human element that is ongoing over there far outweighs the short term reduction we will face until our supply catches up.”
Okada America’s parent company, Okada Aiyon Corp., headquartered in Osaka, Japan, was not directly affected by the earthquake. However, two Okada sales offices in Sendai and Morioka did incur some damage, but were far enough inland to avoid the tsunami.
