NRMCA calls for change in hours of service regulations

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) calls for modest changes in the federal Hours of Service regulations for drivers of ready-mixed trucks. The organization wants federal regulations to recognize the differences in job duties between long-haul drivers and short-haul drivers by modifying the logbook exemption for short-haul drivers.

NRMCA wants federal regulations to raise the number of on-duty hours without logging from 12 to 14 hours, aligning with the driver’s 14-hour on-duty time and allowing mixer drivers to be more efficient.
