A story in today’s Chicago Tribune pointed out that parts of Chicago’s roads are being dressed in their best black outfits–brand, spankin’ new asphalt.
Although some of the major thoroughfares are stilled riddled with potholes, other less-traveled areas are being repaved as part of an “Olympic plan.”
Yes, it would make sense to repair the roads more traveled, but getting any money put into road repair–even for those roads less traveled–is good news for our industry.
And if it takes trying to impress the International Olympic Committee team as Chicago vies for the honor of hosting the 2016 games to get roads fixed, then so be it. Whatever it takes!
