Daimler receives $377 million contract from U.S. Army

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) received a $377 million contract from the U.S. Army to produce 1,780 units of the M915A5 6×4 military line haul tractors.

The new model represents a block upgrade from previous models in response to the Army’s request for improvements based on experiences in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. DTNA will partner with BAE Systems’ Security and Survivability to develop an armor package for the vehicle. The new model will feature enhanced armor and a larger cab with more storage.
