Kubota’s new BX90 Series marks a complete redesign of the company’s subcompact tractors, touting five models and three trim levels with improved loader capability, heavy-duty mower performance and more intuitive operation.

The tractors deliver year-round versatility, from clearing snow and preparing gardens to mowing lawns, managing seasonal cleanup and moving material. New models include: the BX2190, BX2390 Deluxe, and BX2690 Premium, plus the backhoe-equipped BX2390S and BX2690S Premium.

“From intuitive side-by-side HST pedals to enhanced loader and mower systems, every improvement is intended to help customers accomplish more with ease,” says Matt McDonald, senior product operations manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation. “And with three distinct trim levels, customers can choose the BX90 that best fits their property, applications and priorities.”

Three platform-wide advancements are designed to elevate productivity, versatility and operator comfort across the BX90 lineup.

  • Increased Loader Capability: The redesigned LA355 and LA405 loaders offer lift capacities of up to 721 and 904 pounds, respectively. The BX2390 and BX2690 models pair increased hydraulic flow and pressure with quicker cycle times and stronger response at lower engine speeds. Additional upgrades include dual bucket cylinders, an improved rollback angle, protected hose routing, and an easier-to-align loader cradle.
  • Heavy-Duty Mower Performance: The new 54-inch and 60-inch mower decks allow for either pin-on or drive-over connection capability. The available Swift-Mount auto coupling driveline connects as the tractor travels over the deck, making attachment faster and more convenient, while welded steel construction provides lasting durability.
  • Operator Comfort and Intuitive Control: The all-new side-by-side HST pedals create a more natural operating position and intuitive forward and reverse changes.

Five Models to Fit Varying Needs

Five available models give customers the flexibility to choose the capability, price and technology that best fits their needs.

“At the top of the lineup, the Premium model brings modern displays, programmable settings and advanced controls traditionally associated with larger tractors, combining the proven BX experience with technology designed around how customers work,” says McDonlad.

Here’s a look at the key features of each model:

  • BX2190: An entry-level tractor offering the platform-wide enhancements and LA355 loader. Its horsepower has been increased to 19.3 gross hp to support larger tires and 60-inch mower-deck compatibility.
  • BX2390 Deluxe The 21.6-horsepower model gets redesigned styling, compatibility with the high-performance LA405 loader and upgraded controls that include electronically controlled PTO engagement, three-point hitch position control, telescopic stabilizers and simplified mower-deck height adjustment.
  • BX2690 Premium: Calling it “the most advanced BX model to date,” Kubota equipped the 23.9-horsepower BX2690 Premium with an electronically controlled engine, full-color LCD display, programmable engine-speed settings and joystick-integrated throttle-up functionality. The throttle-up feature provides on-demand, fingertip access to preset engine speeds for faster hydraulic response and more engine power during loader work.
  • BX2390S and BX2690S Premium: Two backhoe-equipped configurations feature the new BT604 backhoe, a dedicated flip-up seat and an automatic stabilizer lock. The BX2690S Premium adds the LA405 loader and enhanced hydraulic performance for greater working capability.

Kubota introduced its original BX Series in 2000. The revamped models will be available at Kubota authorized dealerships beginning in early 2027.
