K-Tec Reveals 1232 Scraper with 32-Yard Capacity for Articulated Haulers

Paired with an ADT chassis of 30- to 45-ton payload, the scraper cuts 12 feet wide and gets 4 cubic yards more capacity over the 1228.

K-Tec plans to launch a new 32-yard-capacity scraper next year, the 1232 ADT, designed to be pulled with an articulated dump truck chassis.

The company says it used its 1228 ADT as the 1232’s model, adding 4 more cubic yards of capacity as well as more features to make the scraper more durable and easier to maintain. The 1232 is designed to be paired with an articulated hauler chassis of 30- to 45-ton payload.

The new scraper was unveiled at ConExpo 2026 and is scheduled for availability in 2027. The “12” at the front of the model number means a 12-foot cutting width.

Some of the new features for the 1232 include a front gate extension and taller sidewalls to increase capacity yet keep the scraper matched to one of the most widely used ADT class sizes, the company says.

It can reach haul road speeds of up to 35 mph. It is made of Hardox and Weldox steel technology for lighter weight and increased durability, and its ADT gooseneck is designed to transfer 30% of the weight to the truck with the rest onto the scraper’s axle. It can achieve full heaped capacity with one articulated hauler, with horsepower requirement of at least 350.

K-Tec also replaced ejector rollers with slider blocks to increase wear life and simplify maintenance, and the 1232 shares common wear parts with the company’s larger scrapers.

Another nod to the fleet managers and technicians is the scraper’s bolt-together modular design for easier repairs should damage occur and for compatibility across a fleet.

  • Four 26.5 R25 tires to improve flotation, stability and contact on soft ground. The scraper comes standard with four 23.5 R25 radial tires.
  • Push Roller for smoother push-loading with a dozer. It can also be paired with K-Tec’s Ox Block pusher block, designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption and increase speed over using a dozer.
  • Grader Blades to help funnel material into the bowl during loading.
  • 15-inch rack extension to increase overall scraper capacity and prevent material from falling back into the lead hydraulics. It is installed on top of the ejector rack.
  • Tandem scraping — K-Tec’s 1232 Lead unit configuration provides the components needed to run two scrapers together for increased capacity. It includes a rear hitch, ejector rack extension and the necessary hydraulic components.

Other features on the 1232 include:

  • Grease-less bushings and only five grease points.
  • Tiltable rack for top loading.
  • Laser mount extension to attach GPS or laser mast equipment above the cutting blade.

All K-Tec scrapers now come with built-in telematics to provide machine data for fleet analysis.

“We’re really excited to get this new model out into the field behind your 30- to 45-ton articulating trucks,” says Shaun Eidse, K-Tec director of product. “The extra capacity over the 1228 and the new features will allow you to move more dirt and be competitive in your market.”

Last year, 1,898 new financed ADTs were sold in the U.S., according to Fusable’s EDA equipment finance data. That’s about 250 fewer trucks than the previous year but still ranks the equipment category in ninth place in sales behind backhoes. (EDA and Equipment World are owned by Fusable.)
