Hard hats and pickup trucks are a’blooming in the unlikeliest place, New Orleans, Louisiana.
As it turns out, half the city’s residents haven’t come back since Katrina, keeping unemployment low. The Feds have pledged $35 billion to rebuild and $19 billion of that has yet to be spent. And the work being done is a healthy mixture of new home construction, repair and renovation and big highway and infrastructure projects. The food’s good too, I hear.
