Worth noting that the annual NACE conference, CORROSION 2009, is underway in Atlanta, welcoming more than 4,500 attendees to the world’s largest conference and exposition focused on battling the effects of corrosion on the world’s infrastructure.
Mark Byerley, Sr., president of NACE International says membership had reached 21,235, representing a 43% increase since 2005, and an 8% increase over this same time last year.
How big a problem is corrosion? NACE says the Department of Defense spends $20 billion a year battling it. DoD will have their own corrosion conference in August
