Deere has partnered with the Common Ground Alliance to recognize May as National Safe Digging Month. There are nearly 7000,000 unintentional underground utility damages every year in the United States, roughly more than one per minute. CGA provides contractors with a resource to help prevent these accidents – the national call-before-you-dig-number, 811.
National Safe Digging Month is dedicated to increasing awareness of safe digging practices across the country and to celebrate the one-year anniversary of 811. Deere and CGA encourage contractors to call 811 before they dig to prevent fines, damages and the inconveniences of power outages.
