NRMCA develops model stormwater ordinance encouraging use of pervious pavement systems

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) has developed a new stormwater ordinance model promoting the use of pervious pavement systems. Pervious pavement systems usually consist of an additional storage layer with crushed stone or gravel to minimize stormwater runoff and recharge local groundwater supplies.

The new NRMCA ordinance will aid local governments as a basis in developing their own stormwater ordinances including pervious pavement systems necessary to accommodate respective local conditions. The model ordinance outlines minimum requirements for pervious concrete systems.
