Missouri ethanol law goes into effect

Missouri has become the third state to require all gasoline sold to contain a 10-percent ethanol blend, following Minnesota and Hawaii.

Since corn-based ethanol is currently cheaper than gasoline, most Missouri gas stations have already made the switch to E-10. The new law contains a clause that will suspend the mandate if the price of ethanol exceeds that of gasoline.
