Bobcat entered the telescopic handler market last year with the introduction of its VersaHandler V518 and V623 models. These models are powered by turbo-charged, liquid-cooled, 105-horsepower Perkins engines.
The V518 offers an 18-foot lift height with a 5,500-pound lift capacity; the V623 has a 23-foot lift height and a 6,500-pound lift capacity. Both models feature heavy-duty hydrostatic ground drives for on-the-fly shifting between high- and low-drive ranges. Unlike torque-converter transmissions, VersaHandler transmissions have dynamic braking, allowing controlled movement on the jobsite.
