A Melbourne couple is in jail on charges that they ran a scheme that grossed more than $60,000 in stolen property and $60,000 in cash, according to Florida Today. Investigators said the couple used an assortment of petty thieves, including construction workers, to walk into large home improvement stores, load up a cart with tools, air compressors, nailing guns and leave without paying. The couple would then negotiate sale prices for the stolen goods. According to investigators, the sheriff’s office had to rent two 24-foot long moving vans to retrieve the items.
