Excavator offers thumb-operated proportional controls and control pattern selector

The new 15-ton Takeuchi TB1140 excavator has a two-speed travel system with automatic shift down. Operators have the option of using electro-hydraulic push buttons or thumb-operated proportional controls on the primary hydraulic circuit and thumb-actuated proportional controls on the right joystick for the secondary hydraulic circuit. A control pattern selector valve allows for ISO or SAE joystick settings. The offset swing boom digs to a depth of 18 feet and the bucket exerts 22,188 pounds of breakout force. At ground level it will reach to 28.1 feet and achieve a dump height of 20.4 feet. For greater control, the drive system features both servo assist hand- and foot-operated travel controls. The excavator is available with steel or rubber tracks and can be changed from one to the other with minimal work on the undercarriage.
