Caterpillar to produce work tools at Texas facility

Caterpillar announced June 16 it will begin producing work tools at a facility in Waco, Texas. The new operation, which will initially employ 30 people, will occupy a Caterpillar facility vacated in early 2003.

Employees will focus on the North American production of some of the company’s most popular excavator buckets, freeing up other facilities to concentrate on their core competencies, said Larry Holt, work tools operations manager.

Caterpillar expects the Waco facility’s employment to more than double in the first 12 months of operation.
