Mack celebrates 100 years in Lehigh Valley with open house

In celebration of its 100th anniversary in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, Mack Trucks is hosting a community open house June 19 at its Macungie assembly operations facility. The free event will give visitors the opportunity to walk a one-mile tour route through the plant where all the company’s construction and refuse trucks are produced. “This is our way of saying thanks to the local community for allowing us to make our home here for the past 100 years,” said Paul Vikner, president and chief executive of Mack.

Antique and current Mack vehicles will be on display. The company is encouraging visitors who own bulldogs to dress them up and bring them along for the first Most Outrageous Bulldog Idol contest, during which “wackily attired” canines will compete for prizes.
