Engine, hopper upgrades highlight new material transfer/placer

Terex Roadbuilding’s Terex/CMI MTP4004B concrete material transfer/placer uses a six-cylinder Cummins QSB5.9, 173-horsepower engine and features four-wheel steering for a tight turning radius. The machine can operate at 300 feeet per minute and travel at 10 mph. The unit’s 4-cubic-yard receiving hopper and high capacity transfer conveyor allow for a continuous flow of trucks to the machine, improving paving productivity. Strong hopper auto tension banjo-spring retention cables and heavy-duty polyurethane flashing absorb the shock of delivery trucks and spring back to the original position, increasing service life.

The machine features a 36-inch wide, 30-foot long delivery conveyor that swivels 85 degrees left or right of center, allowing offset concrete placement. The variable-height conveyor enables the transfer of concrete over barrier walls.
