The Asphalt Institute has named William Haverland chairman of its board of directors. Haverland is manager of asphalt marketing and sales at ConocoPhillips. The institute appointed Robert Redd of U.S. Oil and Refining vice chairman. A longtime active member of the institute, Haverland has served on a number of its committees and has been co-chair of both the Asphalt Paving Environmental Council and the Asphalt Science Committee. He is the first person to serve a second term as chairman of the Asphalt Institute; his first term was in 1996.
