ITC judge rules ZF FreedomLine transmissions infringe Eaton patent

A U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled Jan. 7 that automated truck transmissions manufactured and marketed by ZF Friedrichshafen AG, ArvinMeritor and ZFMeritor infringe an Eaton patent and are being unlawfully imported into the United States. The judge recommended the ITC issue both an order prohibiting importation of ZF FreedomLine transmission systems and components and a cease-and-desist order halting the sale of those products. Eaton filed a complaint with the ITC in December 2003.
