Telehandler’s four-section boom reaches up 56 feet, out 42 feet

The new TH580B telehandler from Caterpillar is the largest of the B-series line and features a four-section boom that reaches up 56 feet and forward 42 feet. Weighing 27,465 pounds, the TH580B offers a load capacity of 11,000 pounds and three steering modes – two-wheel, crab and circle steer. Newly designed stabilizers offer plus/minus 5 degrees of leveling and minimize the bulldozing effect. The frame leveling system gives plus/minus 10 degrees of leveling. A 120-horsepower engine drives a power-synchro transmission with four forward and three reverse speeds and the transmission design eliminates the need for a separate transfer box. Oil-immersed front disc brakes provide robust stopping power and an optional differential lock improves traction when needed.
