New excavators minimize tail swing overhang for tight space access

Gehl has fielded a new lineup of four excavators including a zero-tail-swing machine and short-tail-swing models. The excavators are sized in the 5-, 6-, 7-, and 8-metric-ton categories. A side-mount engine design enhances service access and creates operator compartments that are larger than those of the models they replace. All four run on Yanmar diesel engines ranging from 47 to 69 gross horsepower. The two-way hydraulic systems feature flat-faced couplers for cleaner connections and have large, depressurized return lines for hydraulic hammers on the dipper stick.
