Perkin’s latest addition to its 400 series engines, the 404C-15, is a lightweight, compact, diesel engine for users who want low operating costs in the light construction and electric power generation markets. The four-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine develops 35.5 horsepower at 3,000 rpm. Compared to the 100 series they replaced, the Perkins 400 series engines offer 8 to 10 percent more power and torque and 3 to 5 dBA less noise.
