Bosch Power Tools and Accessories has launched the 1199VSR 1/2-inch, dual-torque hammer drill. Whether working in concrete, brick, mortar or steel, the new drill offers long-lasting durability. Bosch says endurance tests on the drill proved it to significantly outlast other
drills in overall life. The company attributes part of this durability to a Bosch-patented rotating brush plate, which allows the tool to offer equal power in forward and reverse for backing out bound-up bits. The plate also extends the overall life of the brushes. Powered by a Bosch 8.5-amp motor, the drill offers a dual-mode selector, rotation-only and hammer-drill settings and a twospeed gearbox for high-speed or high-torque applications. The model can handle capacities up to 3/4-inch concrete, 1/2-inch steel and 1 1/2-inch wood.
