Wheeled dozer lowers costs, ups travel speed

Like their track-driven cousins, wheeled dozers perform a number of high-power tasks, but at a greatly reduced cost and higher travel speed. Komatsu’s WD600-3 generates 485 flywheel horsepower at 2,000 rpm and delivers up to 94,300 pounds of rimpull. A fully automatic shift transmission increases operator comfort. The sealed, hydraulic wet-disc brake system shrugs off dust and contamination and eliminates the freezing and rusting caused by water condensation. A variety of blades are available, all featuring lift, tilt and pitch functions controlled by proportional pressure pilot hydraulic controls. The cab sits on viscous damping mounts to reduce vibration and can be set up with a joystick or a steering wheel.
