Caterpillar has unleashed a new series of four 500E series vibratory soil compactors with dual-pump propel systems that deliver separate hydraulic flow to the rear wheels and drum for improved tractability in soft ground conditions and on steep slopes. The four machines have operating weights from 11.1 to 15.7 metric tons. The CS563E and CP-563E take on jobs where the fill lifts are less than 12 inches or where density requirements don’t exceed 95 percent of standard Proctor. The CS-573E is designed for lifts greater than 12 inches or where density requirements exceed 95 percent of standard Proctor. The heavyweight CS-583E works where lifts are more than 18 inches thick and density requirements exceed 98 percent of standard Proctor.
