Volvo appoints new managers

Volvo appointed new managers last week for its operations in North and South America. Peter Karlsten, currently president of Volvo Brazil, will become president of Volvo Trucks North America, while Tommy Svensson will take over Volvo Trucks’ South American operations. Karlsten is replacing Michel Mgigou, who is returning to Volvo’s European offices. Svensson, who has been president of Volvo Trucks Germany for three years, will be succeeded in Germany by Goeran Simonsson, currently head of Volvo Trucks in Switzerland and Austria. The new assignments will take effect Oct. 1.
